Overview
The MCM SC30 Spider Crane is a 3-ton compact crane built for lifting in confined spaces, on upper floors and on rooftops where conventional cranes cannot reach across South Africa. With a rubber-tracked chassis, a 6-section telescopic boom reaching 10.8 m and 360° continuous rotation, it weighs just 2.7 t and is only 800 mm wide, so it travels through narrow access points with ease.
This spider crane combines a high-strength manganese-steel boom with outriggers that screw out manually and are then supported hydraulically for stable set-up on uneven ground. In addition, it runs on dual power as standard: a Changchai 380G three-cylinder 14.7 kW diesel engine, or an AC 380 V electric motor where exhaust fumes and noise must be kept down. The boom extends from 3.1 m to 10.8 m in 20 seconds, luffs from 0 to 78° and reaches a 10 m working radius. Furthermore, the hydraulic track drive climbs gradients of up to 25°, while optional remote control lets the operator place loads precisely from a safe distance.
Glass and curtain-wall installers, HVAC contractors, substation maintenance teams and machinery installers use the SC30 for lifts inside buildings, on rooftops and in tight industrial spaces. Because it is light and its rubber tracks protect finished surfaces, it also suits warehouse fit-outs, factory machinery placement and heritage renovations.
