Our Story
MCM Group was founded in 2008 by Johan van Niekerk — who still leads the business as CEO today — with a simple goal: give South African contractors and farmers direct access to robust, affordable heavy equipment without the layers of intermediaries that drive up cost on the traditional dealer route.
From a single operation, we grew into a four-branch national distributor, launched our own MCM-branded range, built for us in China to MCM specifications so we control build quality and pricing on our house products, and became the South African distributor for several leading international OEMs.
We have been a regular fixture at NAMPO Harvest Day for many years, and our machines now operate across construction sites, commercial farms, and plant-hire fleets throughout Southern Africa.

Is MCM Group related to MCM Italy or other companies called MCM?

No. MCM Group (MCMCO cc) is a South African construction and agricultural equipment company, founded in 2008 by Johan van Niekerk, with branches in Cape Town, George, Bloemfontein and Midrand. It is not related to MCM S.p.A. in Italy, Metal Chip Machinery or any other company that uses the MCM name. The only exception is MCM Robotics (mcmrobotics.co.za), which is part of the MCM Group.
